Social media and youth violence inquiry 2024
Following inquiry topic suggestions by over 80 Members of Youth Parliament applying to become Committee members, the Committee agreed to conduct an inquiry on youth violence and social media.

As part of the inquiry the Committee will look at issues including:
- The extent to which social media platforms promote violent content
- How social media companies enforce age restrictions
- The effectiveness of UK Government policy in protecting young people from harmful online content

Oral evidence sessions tool place to hear from a range of organisations and witnesses including Govt Ministers on Thursday 12 and Friday 13 December. Its expected that recordings of the sessions will be broadcast on Parliament TV next week – watch this space for updates.
