Comments:
“It’s so useful to keep abreast of things going on in the sector and makes me feel connected to other advocates/researchers/practitioners. I particularly like the highlighting of opportunities and news from the sector. As long as I read the newsletter, I am fairly certain that I’m not missing any major developments – thanks so much for that, James! I always particularly enjoy the editor’s notes, when you incorporate your thoughts and evaluations of policy, trends, etc, and your ability to platform opportunities and young leaders”.
“How to energise passionate people who have been lifelong youth-work and young people-centric but are now out of the system. There are thousands of ex-youth workers who could be mobilised.“
“I’d love to see a roundup of participation-related job opportunities.”
Going forward … more focus on “how to encourage influence in an organisation.”
In response YVNews will:
1/ Move from weekly to fortnightly (unless there is a special news of feature around an event or breaking news)
2/Include a Youth Voice Heard spot in every issue, and increase the frequency of Profile and Platform features (currently one a month)
3/ Prioritise more News and Opportunities to access support/events
4/ Continue to include editorials / comments – including inviting others for their views and reviews, eg Guest Editor.
5/ Repeat the feedback survey
