Aged 11-30? Live in the UK? Have your say and get your youthvoice heard – before, during and after the election! Young Voices Heard is supporting and promoting the Youth Employment UK’s Annual Youth Census which is still open until 7th June. We hope its findings will be of interest to general election candidates and will inform and influence the policies and practice of the next Government. One of the questions asks how likely you (if aged 18-30) are to vote. Please share this with other children and young people in your networks. See @YEUK2012 or YEUK web for other social media links.

This is one of of the largest ‘Have your Say’ surveys in the UK that finds out how yp feel about where you live, work, study. What is really working for you/yp right now and what could support you/them better in the future. This years survey, which takes up to 40 mins to complete, includes some pre-election questions about general issues about your hopes and fears for the future.

To participate in the Census, young people (you if aged 11-30 in UK!) can access the survey here.

Each year YUEK and its young ambassadors share its findings with MPs and the UK Government to help inform policy, ensuring all their actions address what young people need. As we approach a general election, youth voice is vital – by sharing this opportunity with young people in your network you can help us gather a wider audience and more diverse perspectives.

Example question

YVH Comment “Youth Employment UK have a strong record of championing youthvoice and influence since they were founded in 2012, and are part of network of organisations active in the employment, education and training sector who lobby and are in regular dialogue with Government on a range of relevant policies issues highlighted by young people. Id be delighted if their excellent Annual Census, reports, and young advocates had a higher profile and participation in any future national youth council framework, along side other great initiatives in health, education and other sectors” James Cathcart, Director of YVH Heard.

Young Voices Heard will be reporting on the findings of the survey in a future News Blog – so why not subscribe to get it direct to your inbox!
