The #Campaign4YouthRecognition's YVH Youth Honours 2012-2025 has three new names bringing the running total to 73. This campaign identifies and celebrates young changemakers  (aged up to 30 in the UK, 2012-2025 - see below) who exceptional role models in an effort to inspire more nominations for national recognition across five awards. The King's Honours, Diana Awards, Pride of Britain, and the British Youth Citizen Awards. New Year Call to action....Votes at 16 isn't going to be enough to focus the nation of listening to young people too. We need a wider range of 'YouthVoice' reforms to embed the principles of listening, working with and investing in young leadership, by Government and society. That means between elections and for a broader age range. Have your #youthvoice say to the Youth Select Committee inquiry on "Social Media and Youth Violence" The Youth Select Committee (YSC) is a UK Youth Parliament initiative hosted by the National Youth Agency and supported by the House of Commons, which is taking its evidence in public and has its proceedings televised and recorded in Hansard. The YSC model was originally developed by the British Youth Council in partnership with Parliament as part of its Youth Voice programme when its members were a mixture of representatives from across the UK (See BYC UKYP Archive 5  for details and past reports) The new model is all members of the UK Youth Parliament aged 14-28 whose applicants chose the topic and set the terms of reference below. Have your #youthvoice say using the 0nline "public survey" consultation open til 31/12/24. Following the announcement by the National Youth Agency (see Part 1) of a consultation on the future for a new national youth council and ways to influence government, NYA have now launched an online consultation and call for #youthvoice focus groups to be set up. This process is open until the end of December 2024.
