Have your #youthvoice say using the 0nline "public survey" consultation open til 31/12/24. Following the announcement by the National Youth Agency (see Part 1) of a consultation on the future for a new national youth council and ways to influence government, NYA have now launched an online consultation and call for #youthvoice focus groups to be set up. This process is open until the end of December 2024. Young Voices Heard is supporting and promoting the Youth Employment UK's Annual Youth Census which is still open until 7th June. We hope its findings will be of interest to general election candidates and will inform and influence the policies and practice of the next Government. This is the most recent DCMS/Govt commissioned evaluation report into the work of the UK Youth Parliament (then run by the British Youth Council, and the Youth Policy Group  (then run by ShoutOutUK) as separate Youth Engagement Programmes. Topical in 24/25 for its relevance to the current debate on the future of UKYP and a national Youth Council for the UK. The Government will relaunch and refresh UK Youth Parliament in the new year (2023). Editors Topical Pick for 2024 - This article was first published in Dec 2022 when the a year renewal tender for the Youth Parliament was first published by DCMS following a reviews of its Youth Engagement policy. The contract was won by the British Youth Council but with the charity's closure 1 year the contract was slimmed down and retendered to the National Youth Agency to run from April24-March25. During a summer of covid-related challenges for the education sector students views were increasingly reported by the media to a wider audience than is usual.  The exam results announcements are traditionally a time when cameras and microphones are poised to capture the reaction of pupils. This year the 'algorithm' produced such a range of results and young people were on hand - shocked and disbelieving. This turned to questioning and challenging politicians to respond, and in some places backed with street protests.
